MULTIMEDIA
Here’s a selection of multimedia content I’ve produced in my career, for companies large and small!
COMMERCIAL WORK
TRUSTDALE BRANDING COMMERCIALS
TrustDALE is a consumer services referral company in Atlanta that goes beyond mere recommendations. With TrustDALE, you get the added benefit of a $10,000 Make-It-Right Guarantee, which protects you if a TrustDALE-recommended partner fails to do the job right. One of my many tasks, as the company’s multimedia producer, is to find new ways to let the public know about our services. Here are some of the commercials I produced, wrote, and edited for broadcast television and social media.
MR. ELECTRIC & MR. ROOTER EMPLOYEE TESTIMONIALS
In 2022, TrustDALE created a series of videos for Mr. Rooter and Mr. Electric as part of an external messaging campaign. Unlike most commercials, these videos featured testimonials from company employees about the quality of work they do. Instead of going with scripted responses, we chose to let the employees use their own words to tell us about their commitment to customer service.
WOODSTOCK FURNITURE & MATTRESS OUTLET
Woodstock Furniture and Mattress Outlet partnered with TrustDALE for a promotional campaign. Part of the campaign included long-form external videos that went beyond the boundaries of a traditional 30-second commercial. I spent a day at the company’s main store to shoot interviews with store employees about the scope of their work and the services they provide. As with many testimonial videos I’ve done, I was able to ease employees who had never done an on-camera interview, and help them be confident in their responses.
WHEN ALL ELSE FAILS…
A key part of TrustDALE’s work is problem solving. Good customer service can be hard to find, and many people turned to TrustDALE for help because they felt nobody else could help them. These videos — which I shot, edited, and/or wrote — are examples of how we smartly and effectively used our resources to help these people solve their problems. These also show how storytelling skills I learned in journalism can apply elsewhere.
JOURNALISM PROJECTS
THE RESURGENCE
Atlanta’s Westside is a neighborhood where poverty and gentrification collide with a community’s self reliance. Written and produced for WGCL-TV (now WANF-TV). Nominated for a 2019 Emmy by the NATAS Southeast Chapter.
SUPER BOWL VOLUNTEER
The NFL’s biggest game relies on thousands of volunteers to make things happen far beyond the 50-yard line. When Super Bowl LIII came to Atlanta, one man decided to put his nine-to-five job on hold to see if he could be part of the action. Written and produced for WGCL-TV (now WANF-TV).
AUDIO WORK
Telling a story in 30 seconds or less is not easy. Imagine doing it when your audience can’t see the story for themselves. I used my skills as a writer and an editor to bring “slice of life” stories to life to millions of CBS News Radio listeners worldwide.
ORANGE ANIMALS
When I heard about a man in rural Pennsylvania who painted his animals orange, I knew I had to find him and tell his story.
LITTLE LEAGUE WORLD SERIES
I covered three consecutive LLWS championships. Not every story took place on the baseball field.
STILL CHUGGING
Your parents probably remember a Christmas with a model train chugging its way around the Christmas tree. I discovered a small company, about 15 minutes from my hometown, that the last model train maker still making trains in the United States.
LOL LIBRARY RESEARCH
Long before AOL shut down its Instant Messenger service, Moravian College experimented with the idea of using IMs for library research.
TEXTBOOK PRICES
A 2006 Government Accountability Office report confirmed what many college students already know — then and now — textbooks are expensive!
